How to throw a Baby Shower

Today at Label’ Emotion London we want to talk about the biggest event in life. No, not wedding again, but babies. What’s more important than the birth of a little human being in this world? And we love to organize something special to this kind of event, and welcome the future baby with creativity and joy with a special Baby Shower!

So are you throwing a Baby Shower? Your best friend, sister or cousin is pregnant and you are the one throwing or hosting the party? No worries, this article will guide you to plan a perfect and memorable Baby Shower that everyone, including the lovely future mother will enjoy.

Invitations

First and crucial step here guys, the guests list and in addition, the invitations.
If you are not sure of the exact guest list, ask someone very close to the mother to help you find out who you should invite or not, making sure you don’t leaven someone out if he/she should be there!
For the invitations, there are of course many ideas and ways to do it. Depending on your budget, you can either send a real and proper paper invitation or email the invitation, making sure you send something nice and creative!
In the invitation, include all the information guests will need to know, address, time, date, theme etc… and of course ask them to RSVP, this will help you for the rest of the organization!

The Theme

The decoration will depend on whether the future baby is a girl, a boy, both for twins or if the baby’s sex is unknown!
You can choose the classics colors, blue or pink if you know the sex of the baby, or something neutral such as light grey or every pastel colors can work for a boy or a girl!
You can also go for a real theme, a real children fairytale’s theme, picking a famous kids movie, a character from cartoons, movies, books… And of course, take into account the mother’s wishes or requests (if she ever said something about her baby shower…)

Buffet

The food and the drinks will of course depend on when you plan to throw the party, if you go for an Afternoon Baby Shower, think about cakes, cookies, cupcakes, fresh juices, lemonade, create a real kid atmosphere with little snacks grown up will enjoy as much as children!!
For a Cocktail or Dinner Baby Shower, prepare a variety of snacks, finger foods for example is always a good option, it’s easy to make and easy to eat! But you may prepare more than just appetizer if you are planning a dinner party!
For the drinks, prepare something more original than wine, a punch or mojito maybe? And of course, variety of soft drinks and water for the future mother and the guests who would prefer juice over alcohol!

Entertainment

You have to organize activities and games to entertain the guests and surprise the mother!
From Blindfolded diaper changing s in 30sec to Baby Hot Potato game, create something funny and memorable!
Otherwise, think about a nice playlist, something girly if this is a Girls only Baby Shower, songs the mother will like and remember from her high school time for example, songs you loved when you where teenagers and in love with bad boys!!

And if the budget allows you to do it, prepare some favors for the guests to take back home, little treats for them to remember the party, chocolates, bracelets with the date of the babyshower, candy packs etc…and create your own tags and bags!
