DON’TS to avoid a boring wedding

We all know what is like to attend a wedding where you feel bored and look at your watch every 5 minutes hoping it will end soon.

So today Label’Emotion London wants to give you some advice and DON’TS to avoid a boring wedding and please your guests with funny and original ideas to dance and have fun until the sun comes up!

So let’s start with all the DON’TS and advice to make sure your guests will be ready to party :

Tell you guests what to expect

This is fundamental, tell them a bit more about the dress code, about the theme AND about the weather.
For example, even if you can’t predict the weather, if you know it gets cold every evening where your are getting married you should inform your guests.
It could definitely ruin your party if they get cold and the party could end very early (and not early morning..)

Try to keep the toasts short

Because we all know that when it comes to toasts, it’s all about the quality and not the quantity..
Ask your parents, friends and everyone who wants to make a speech to keep it short, not because you don’t want to hear all the jokes they made about you (and embarrass you too) but because you want to avoid a very, boring, long dinner to your guests who really won’t understand a word of what your old aunt will say about your and private jokes even you don’t understand anymore.

Choose the RIGHT seating assignments

Think about it very carefully and don’t take it lightly because a bad seating plan can spoil the dinner and the party to come with really wrong mixes.
So try to seat guests with people they know and (could) get along with, if you want to people to talk, laugh, make some noise and set the mood !

Feed them

Not enough food is the biggest mistake you could make and this is not just a detail !
This is one of the Top-3 things your guests will remember and gossip about it if you fail.
You don’t want to learn that your guests left your wedding starving and stop at the Mc Drive on their way back home at 1 am.

Find a DJ on the same wavelength than you

Make sure your DJ like the same music as you do and understand what kind of music you want, this is your wedding not his.
Think about it, what could possibly ruin more the party than a bad DJ who talks more on the micro than putting music and make people dance… on an empty dancefloor.

Take into account everyone

And by everyone I mean all different generations reunited at your wedding. Don’t forget that your parents and grand parents won’t exactly appreciate the latest Electro song you heard on this Festival last summer..
So ask your DJ to put different songs and music you and your parents can dance one and please everyone because this is not only a party for you young people, even older people wants to dance and know how to shake it !

Create original spots

If you have read our past articles (if you haven’t, make yourself comfortable and read them all ;)) on the blog you should know for now that you can easily find many things to create original spots at your wedding.
So for example, create a photo booth during the cocktail, a space where your guests can have some fun, a wedding bar, a funny activity , something to keep your guests entertained and something they will remember, a funny and original wedding not a boring wedding…!

Serve a snack

Surprise your guests with a little snack during the party, we all know that after 3 hours on the dance floor, 5 mojitos and 2 frenetics rock n roll a little delicious treat won’t hurt us ! 🙂

So now that you have the key to avoid a boring wedding, no excuses my friends, your wedding will rock the hell out and leave your guests open mounted.
