First, choose the right shape and style to flatter your belly

As you might know your chest is enhanced during pregnancy so an “Empire” dress shape, whose waist begins just under your bust, or a bustier dress would be perfect, they highlight your chest and make your silhouette longer. You can also opt for a short dress which is really glamourous if you have pretty legs.
Forget about sheath dresses which are too slinky. Also avoid frills and furbelows, keep it simple, it would increase the volume of your bump.
Be careful, do not use synthetics especially if your pregnancy gives you hot flush.

Which color to glorify your silhouette?

Favour ivory-coloured, particularly if it’s your first wedding, or pastel colors in this way your dress will be fresh and lighted. Avoid flashy colors which will point out your belly, bank on sobriety.

The long veil is back, it is once again in vogue, but ideally for an expectant mother, wear it in the back to avoid hot flushes.

About the shoes, keep in mind your belly isn’t the only thing that grows, your feet do too and many future moms suffer from foot swelling during their pregnancy. You have to take that into consideration! Then the most important is to be comfortable. Perfect heels during the day shall be no higher than 4cm. Do not forget a second pair more comfortable on the evening to enjoy the dinner and the dance floor.

When do you start fittings?

Your belly will evaluate fast so don’t start fittings to early.
There are two options:
First you can pick up the dress around 4 month before the wedding one size above your actual size. This option can be a little bit risky, you could have to make alterations a few weeks before the wedding.
The second option is, you start fittings one month before your wedding. But in that case your choice might be more limited.
No matter what you choose you should make a last fitting one week before the wedding, you might have last-minute alterations.
