First, before embarking for a wedding in France there are a few things you need to know. A civil ceremony is the only legally binding type of ceremony possible in France and to do it you need to get married in a Mairie (town hall) and need some specific documents. As a matter of fact it would be much easier to have a civil marriage in your country of origin and then hold a religious or secular, ceremony in France.
