Throwing a Birthday party is not as easy as it seems, It has to be fun and memorable ? Here are some tips that will help you make a successful Birthday Party.
The Theme
Make sure to pick a suitable theme considering your age, your gender, interests or hobbies. You can either make the whole party in relation to your theme (decoration, food, music …) or just go for a lighter touch by integrating some details in your decoration and in the menu.
Your Invitations
Set your guest list and send your invitations at least 2 weeks before the event along with the RSVP.
The bigger your birthday party ,the sooner you’ll have to inform your guests.
Thanks to this you’ll have an idea of how many people will be there and decide what kind of venue will be best for your group size.
The Venue
Now you know how many people will attend your birthday party you can choose more precisely the venue. If you want an intimist atmosphere. You can obviously throw your party at your house considering there is enough space for your guests, it is perfect for a small group. Moreover it offers a good value for money you’ll just have to invest for the decoration and food.
In case of a big birthday party or if your home isn’t big enough you can hire a venue ( restaurant, bar, private property) it will allow you and your guest having a good time by moving and dancing easily without being on top of each other.
Decoration
Balloons and streamers are fun but also common and have a lack of originality. Be more creative and add to your decoration some details related to your theme. Like hanging cups of tea on a chandelier for an Alice in Wonderland party.
Buffet
It’s a nice touch when the food reminds of your chosen theme for example Carribean grilled crab cakes for a Carribean party. Finger foods will be best for this kind of party, more grown-up snacks, like chips and salsa, cheese and crackers, and range of easy-to-prepare appetizers. Don’t forget to have extra food in case there is more people than expected. You must serve food that you can cook fast and put together ahead of time. So you can spend the precious hours of the party with your guests, rather than in the kitchen.
The entertainment
This is the most important if you want to have a successful birthday party. Your guests must remember it!
So, first make sure to have some music to put on whether it is just a set of speakers with a phone or music player, or a whole DJ setup. Background music really helps set the atmosphere at the party. Make sure you have a variety of music to please everyone. And a range of fast, soft, and quiet songs to fit the mood at different times of the event.
To keep your guest entertained and depending on their ages, you can even have several games running throughout the event. For example, something active like a three-legged race or Twister.
Memories
A simple way to have good photographs is to set up a photo corner with a background. For example, it can be a white or black curtain or even a handmade wall.
Having a photo booth can also be a great idea if you want to immortalize your birthday party.
You can print and give your guests some of their goofy snapshots or use a Polaroid, it will give a vintage touch and a real souvenir.
