The first thing you have to know is that your wedding program shouldn’t be a forgotten piece of your wedding or something you leave to last minute. In fact your wedding program is an opportunity for you to remember your day, thank people who made it possible and to set the tone for the whole event’s atmosphere!
The format of your wedding program:
Typically it is a single or folded card. But there is no constraint you can also create your own quirky format like cartoon, puzzle, a passport (if your wedding theme is about travelling)…Or if you have no time for this but you want to stand out from the crowd just changing the dimension can make it more original. Long and narrow looks sophisticated, rolled is elegant, chalkboard wedding programs are really trendy… In fact you just have to find a format that suit to your personality and theme.
Your wedding program’s cover:
Usually the cover looks like a wedding invitation. Start with your names followed by the wedding date and the location simple, right? You can customize it with a picture of your couple, a specific typography, ribbons or little things which are related to your theme. Your cover has to be memorable and personal.
What to include?
In your wedding program your guests will expect to see the order of service, the names of songs being played, the readings given, and the names of the wedding party. But you also could include
• Brief biographies of your couple
• Names of officiates, musicians, cake baker, catering company, wedding planner…
• Favourite quotations, and songs,
• Explanation of religious and ethnic rituals/traditions, it is generally unknown by many guests

Whilst these details are important, feel free to also include what feels right to you, after all, it is your wedding! Adding in more information is a great opportunity to let your personality as a couple shine. You can include some fun stuff like a cute story about how the couple met or became engaged, a funny anecdote about your wedding planning, poems, pictures…
The wedding party page:
When you bring two families together, there will be plenty of guests who don’t know each other. Including a list of the bridal party and their relation to the bride and groom will make the reception an easier transition for all guests. It is also a way to thank those hand-picked people personally for choosing to be a part of your special day.
