Once the wedding is (sadly…) over and you are now Mr & Mrs Happily ever after, it’s time to think about your Wedding thank you cards, and focus all your attention on this important and final step before enjoying your loving life as a married couple!
After all the precious and memorable moments you spent with your closest friends and family it is time to thank them for travelling near and far to celebrate your love and make this day even more special. There’s nothing more appreciated than nice and lovely Wedding thank you cards especially for the ones who have participated to your wedding in any ways, from your bridesmaids to your childhood friend who came all the way down from Singapore to make your day more unique… all your guests deserve a personalize note from you and a souvenir of this memorable day.
There are of course many different ways to thank your guests and it’s really up to you and the time you have and can spend on this final step! But make sure you understand the importance of this job!
The Wedding Thank-you Cards are of course the simple and classic way to thank your guests, but don’t get me wrong, simple doesn’t mean bad or easy either. You can also send your favourite Wedding picture as a couple, or send a post card from your Honey Moon, just choose the option you prefer.
For each option, the rules are the same and this is the kind of tradition we can’t change or worst, skip!
Here are all the DOs and DON’Ts to help you in this final step and make everything right:
DO personalize each Thank-you Card
DO make reference(s) to the guest(s)
DO mention their gift or contribution
DO send the Thank-you Card within 3 months (max) after the wedding
DO keep your Wedding Guests list for the addresses
DO anticipate by buying the Thank-you card in advance
DON’T send printed cards with your hand-written signature only
DON’T right the same card for everyone
DON’T send email
DON’T send any digital card
DON’T be too formal or distant
DON’T forget anyone!
