As the Wedding season begins slowly, you probably received or will receive one or several Wedding Invitations for this summer. Being invited to a Wedding is so exciting and we are all very happy to attend one. But there’s also this moment where you realize that you don’t have anything to wear (or you just want a new excuse to buy something) and you begin to think about what you want to wear,  need to wear or what you should wear… and you are completely lost. So today Label’ Emotion London will help you find out how to dress for a wedding with a few tips and advice.

You probably have many beautiful things in your closet that you can wear for the wedding to which you are invited, so you should start here before buying expensive clothes you will never wear again…
Because we all know that you won’t wear the same outfit at another wedding..
I am sure you can find something, even a pair of shoes, a dress, a belt, a jacket.. Something that will help you find the rest of the outfit.
After fostering chaos in your room let’s take a break and read the Wedding Invitation to take all the information you need.

Wedding Invitation

As you can guess, the Wedding Theme will give you an idea of what you can wear or not at the Wedding. So make sure you get the theme, or if the theme is not that obvious, you can guess whether it’s a formal, casual, chic or modest wedding.
How? First, the invitation style of course, and then, how the wedding is presented in the invitation, are the parents announcing the wedding or not etc..
If you are lucky, the bride and groom can write the Dress Code in the invitation and make the whole thing easier…

IF NOT, don’t worry. It’s easy to guess, and I’ll show you how.

The Location

Are you invited to a Destination Wedding? A modern and urban wedding in the city? A wedding in Scotland?
The location is very important here because it also includes a key information. By the location you can tell what the weather will be (more or less).
It will be easier for you to wear a summer coral dress if the wedding is in Spain that in Scotland where the weather is clearly unstable…

The Venue

Take the venue into account. As you can imagine, if the wedding takes place on a beach, the dress code won’t be the same as if the wedding takes place in a Castle…
So take the time to read the invitation in its entirety to make sure you don’t miss something important.

Your role

Determine if you have a role at this wedding. If you are one of the bridesmaid you should probably ask the bride what she wants for you or if she already has an idea of what you will wear.
But I m sure you already have all the information (for at least a year) if you are one of the bridesmaid!
But there are also other roles you can play at a wedding, for example if the bride asks you to read something at the ceremony, you should probably eliminate the “short sexy dress” option…

After examining the Wedding Invitation you should probably have a more precise idea of how you should dress.
Before concluding and letting you go shopping, let me remind you the general rules you should be aware of.
Don’t EVER wear white. Forget about your lovely summer white dress you bought last week, white is for the bride, and only the bride.
Always dress NICELY no matter what. Even if the wedding is casual or modest you have to dress properly and honour the bride and groom.
Don’t wear something that screams, “look at me”. This is not your special day and even if it’s completely normal and natural to dress well and look beautiful you should avoid skimpy outfit or anything loud or too much.

It’s pretty obvious but just in case it’s better to remind the rules and make sure no one will make a mistake or lack of taste, right?
